Climate Neutral Metrics

The Climate Neutral Network provides tools to help companies conduct an inventory of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their enterprise or a particular product line — the first step in obtaining climate neutral certification.

For climate neutral enterprises, companies use our climate neutral metrics system to establish a comprehensive, clear framework within which greenhouse gas emissions can be measured. (Download a copy of the worksheet used to calculate the footprint below.)

Climate neutral products also go through a footprint analysis process, but in this case the footprint is measured differently depending on the individual nature of the product or service and on the manufacturing conditions under which it is made. The Network staff assists companies in creating these "Product Metrics" as part of their consulting services in setting up the climate neutral certification application.

Once the product or enterprise footprint is established, the company can develop an application for climate neutral certification by creating and implementing a portfolio of projects including both internal, on-site reductions and external offset investment projects to mitigate the remaining climate impacts of their operations.
